Magolie comes to the CBM funded community based healthcare centres (Antennas) twice a week for both physiotherapy and trauma counselling (psychosocial support). You can always heal physical scars, but if you don t heal your emotional scars you will never fully recover, says Magolie.
People who have difficulties accessing food distribution in Haiti are being assisted by 'Antennas'. These CBM-supported community based healthcare centres provide advice and a direct link to mainstream agencies, and locate and visit people from outlying areas who cannot reach them.
A contact point in Haiti for people with injuries or disabilities
CBM, together with Handicap International and the Haitian government, has been providing support to people with injuries and disabilities since February 2nd in eight locations in Port-au-Prince and in Gonaive.
These 'Antennas' are places where people affected by the earthquake can access physical rehabilitation, psychosocial support and be referred to mainstream relief stakeholders while needed.

Access to food
If someone is unable to access the distribution of food, the Antenna will contact the organisations overseeing the operation and refer the person to them.
Advice
The Antennas are also used to pass information to the affected population, and while people are waiting, CBM staff advise and explain about issues such as hygeine.
Outreach
As many people cannot access the antennas because of their injuries or disabilities, professionals working in the Antennas regularly visit them at home. They also use these opportunities to identify people with disabilities or injuries who haven’t yet accessed services.
People coming to the Antenna are very happy with the services provided and are grateful to CBM and its partners for their support.
