CBM has been in Bangladesh since 1972 and formally established a Country Coordination Office in Dhaka in 2006.
The current portfolio of projects ranges through health care service delivery, emergency relief and rehabilitation, promoting human rights and self-initiatives of persons with disabilities, CBR Guidelines roll out, disability inclusive disaster risk reduction, community mental health, research, advocacy and inclusive development initiatives.
At present, CBM supports nine projects in the country.

Current priorities identified in country strategy:
- Establish programmes with stronger community base
- Reaching out to priority and hard to reach areas while strengthening and expanding strategic partner base
- Support partner organisations to broaden their scope of work especially from pure service delivery to comprehensive approach
- Stronger role at policy level discussions and provide support for local partners and civil society organizations in mainstreaming disability
- Supporting ‘Vision 2020 – The Right to Sight’ initiative for eliminating avoidable blindness in Bangladesh and Sound Hearing 2030 for Avoidable hearing impairment
- Promoting Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Community Mental Health, Disability inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction and CBR Guidelines Roll Out in Bangladesh
- Capacity building of partners on resource mobilisation, organisational development
- Research initiatives to determine the causes and prevalence of disabilities in children and adults
