Dr Daniel Etya'alé
Eye doctor, Medical Advisor, IAPB Executive Director, Africa
Dr Daniel Etya'alé from Cameroon, an eye doctor specialising in tropical eye medicine, has been working with CBM since 1987.
Dr Etya'ale was appointed IAPB Executive Director for Africa in November 2009.
From 1987 to 1994, he was employed at the Presbyterian Hospital in Enongal, Cameroon. In 1995, CBM seconded him to the World Health Organization in Geneva as Coordinator of ivermectin (anti-parasite medication) distribution, for the African Onchocerciasis Control Programme. In 2000, he took on the post of Africa Coordinator at WHO within the VISION 2020 programme.
