Niry
Niry is from a poor family that lives in one room to cook, eat and sleep.

For his future independence, it is important that he not only learns how to read, write, and speak, but how to live without constant support.

The Institute for the Deaf also teaches practical chores like making their beds, washing the dishes, and cleaning their rooms.  It is important that students develop a sense of independence.

The family’s surpise

When Niry went back home after learning these practical skills, his parents and siblings were amazed!

He rearranged the household, putting the kitchen in one area of the room, the dishes right next to stove, and arranged a corner for the family to sleep.  His family is very happy that Niry has become so independent and interested in helping the family.  They are proud that he is a hard worker.

As Niry grows up and continues to attend primary school at Institute for the Deaf, he can also train in a vocation like carpentry, metalwork, tailoring, or agriculture.  Niry will be able to gain a living using an acquired skill and live independently.
