Ivory Coast
Since 1990, CBM has been supporting RACH (Rehabilitation Assise Communautaire des Handicapés), a comprehensive community based rehabilitation (CBR) project situated at Gagnoa, a about 250 kms northwest of Abidjan.
In 1998, CBM developed another partnership with the Methodist Church in Ivory Coast, to support Dabou Eye Unit. Dabou is located at about 50 Km west of Abidjan. CBM supported the training of an Ivorian ophthalmologist at the University of Abidjan and provides eye care supplies as well as training of the management staff.
CBM also collaborates with the National Prevention of Blindness Programme in Ivory Coast and with El Rapha Health Care Centre in Abidjan, which has an eye department.
