For various partner organisations in Eastern Mediterranean Region
Michael Schueber, from Germany, has been working as Organisational Development (OD) Advisor for the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (EMR) since 2009. He is currently supporting key CBM partner organisations in the region in their respective OD efforts. This approach focuses on strengthening leadership and management capacity at different levels throughout the organisation as well as introducing or enhancing Knowledge Management (KM) and Organisational Learning (OL) with the aim of enhancing programme effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability.
Michael has been working for CBM since 2004, when he first carried out a comprehensive organisational assessment of CBM's largest project, Sagarmatha Choudhary Eye Hospital (SCEH) in Lahan. In the next phase (2005) he then worked with the Programme Director on developing strategies to ensure the sustainability of this highly successful project, including the concept of the Eastern Region Eye Care Centre Programme (EREC-P). From 2006 to 2008 he has coordinated the establishment of the EREC-P in Biratnagar, which has been instrumental for securing the long-term sustainability of SCEH as a large, comprehensive eye centre.
Michael has 30 years of experience in international development cooperation, mainly in Asia, and has completed studies in mechanical engineering (Germany), management and information systems (Institute for Development Policy and Management – IDPM - at the University of Manchester, UK).
