On behalf of the EU Thailand Delegation, CBM spoke about the importance of integrating disability into development to 30 EU funding candidate organisations in the EU Proposal Writing Training, Bangkok, 20 July 2012.
Disability exists in every society
The EU Delegation Thailand has given CBM an opportunity to mainstream disability and network with local and international organisations whose interests are diverse, such as fishery, education, HIV/Aids, environment, foreign labour, rights to land in the EU Proposal Writing Training.
CBM highlights one of the 10 principles of the EC Guidance Note on Disability and Development which reads 'Ensure EU funded projects are truly inclusive of persons with disabilities and their families' and shares some initial good practices on disability inclusion including some guidelines such as 'Inclusion Made Easy', 'Make Development Inclusive Handbook' and 'WHO CBR Guidelines'.
Terres des Hommes Italia, ActionAid Thailand, Oxfam, and Italian Association for Aid to Children have expressed their interest to work with CBM to ensure their projects will be inclusive of and accessible to persons with disabilities.
