CBM commenced its activities in Viet Nam in 1982 through partnership with both government and non-government sectors. CBM continues to work towards inclusion of persons with disabilities in all community activities.

What we do

CBM is a member of the Task Force supporting the National Committee on the Prevention of Blindness. CBM works towards improving access to quality eye care services especially by women, children and persons with disabilities.

Following the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Vietnam National Action Plan to support persons with disabilities, CBM together with Thua Thien Hue Provincial Health Department is implementing a cross disability Community-Based Rehabilitation programme which is an accessible and sustainable model programme.

CBM works with the National Institute for Educational Strategies and Curriculum on the Education for All Children with Visual Impairment (EFA-VI). CBM supports and advocates Inclusive Education at all levels and in both formal and informal education including employment opportunities for children with visual impairment.
