Project: Blindness prevention programme at the World Health Organization (WHO)
Dr Daniel Etya'alé from Cameroon, an eye doctor specialising in tropical eye medicine, has been working with CBM since 1987.
From 1987 to 1994, he was employed at the Presbyterian Hospital in Enongal, Cameroon.
In 1995, CBM seconded him to the World Health Organization in Geneva as Coordinator of ivermectin distribution (anti-parasite medication), for the African Onchocerciasis Control Programme.
From 2000, he took on the new post of Africa Coordinator at WHO within the VISION 2020 programme.

CBM President Professor Allen Foster met with World Health Organisation Director-General Dr Margaret Chan, for the WHO's global initiative to eliminate avoidable blindness "Vision 2020: The Right to Sight” on the eve of World Sight Day 2007 at the WHO's headquarters.
