Edmund Gabriel from Germany is an agricultural engineer and marketing/production manager. After spending several years working for various development cooperation organisations in Africa, from 1999 he worked for CBM in Addis Ababa. Up to 2004, he planned and structured integration projects for people with disabilities. Since 2004, he has been in charge of the local CBM Regional Office that coordinates and looks after CBM-supported projects in five East African countries.

World Health Organization thanks CBM for its outstanding work
CBM President Professor Allen Foster met with World Health Organisation Director-General Dr Margaret Chan, for the WHO's global initiative to eliminate avoidable blindness "Vision 2020: The Right to Sight” on the eve of World Sight Day 2007 at the WHO's headquarters.
