Sabine Kolping just recently took on the role of Capacity Building Officer at the CBM Regional Office in Lomé. Her responsibility is to oversee trainings, workshops and any other measures, at the project/ partner level, which purpose is to help partner organisations acquire certain competencies and skills needed to improve their programme’s effectiveness, develop sustainability and ultimately become independent from foreign funds.

Prior to this assignment Sabine worked for a Togolese NGO providing special education and vocational training for children with an intellectual deficiency.

Originally from Germany Ms Kolping gained extensive work experience of 15 years in community psychiatric services in her home country.

Sabine Kolping is married and has two children.

CBM President Professor Allen Foster met with World Health Organisation Director-General Dr Margaret Chan, for the WHO's global initiative to eliminate avoidable blindness "Vision 2020: The Right to Sight” on the eve of World Sight Day 2007 at the WHO's headquarters.
