Project: Eye department
Eye specialist Dr Karinya Lewis from the UK is working in southern Sudan at the Eye Department of Juba Teaching Hospital.

Since the peace treaty of January 2005, it has become possible to provide regular, high-quality eye care. Dr Karinya Lewis is responsible for cataract operations at the hospital and for establishing an integrated basic eye-care service in Central Equatoria State and a training programme for ophthalmic personnel.
Her husband Chris also works in Juba, as a health advisor to people in southern Sudan on behalf of Tearfund.
