Dr Nkumbe, an eye doctor from Cameroon, studied in Göttingen, Lausanne, Heidelberg and Nairobi. After being attached to the World Health Organization in Geneva as a scientist for a number of years, in October 2004 he began to work for CBM in Moshi, Tanzania. Since October 2006, he has been in charge of an eye-health programme in Antsirabe, Madagascar
