Sinkinson, Helen
Location: Bangkok, Thailand
Project: CBM Central East Asia Regional Office.
Helen works as an Assistant to Regional Director and Capacity Development Officer for projects in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Bhutan and Cambodia. Her main responsibilities are the implementation and further development of regional strategies in cooperation with the Regional Director. For example, development of a Project Cycle Management roll-out strategy for the region and coaching of partners in the project cycle management approach.

Her first experience with CBM was for a year from Nov 1992, gaining work experience in the Overseas Department. Leaving to take up studies in European Business, Helen continued to assist in various assignments. However, in 1998 she returned to CBM working for the Administration Department, Africa Desk and lastly at the South Asia Desk until September 2004.

After leaving for the UK to complete an MA in Social Development and Sustainable Livelihoods, Helen returned to CBM, spending three months in Bensheim before coming to Bangkok.

Helen’s major achievements in 2007 was swimming with sharks in the Andaman sea, and being let in and out of DPR Korea!

CBM President Professor Allen Foster met with World Health Organisation Director-General Dr Margaret Chan, for the WHO's global initiative to eliminate avoidable blindness "Vision 2020: The Right to Sight” on the eve of World Sight Day 2007 at the WHO's headquarters.
