Application and contract
To apply, please submit by e-mail a letter of motivation indicating the position you are applying for together with a detailed CV using the address mentioned in the vacancy. Your qualifications and experience will be reviewed in the light of CBM's personnel needs. If your skills match the requirements of a respective vacancy you will be invited for initial interviews to the CBM member association in your home country or to Bensheim/Germany. Applicants who have been successfully interviewed will attend a two-day Assessment Center in Bensheim.

A contract, usually limited to 2 to 4 years, will be offered to a candidate who has been accepted and for whom an overseas assignment has been identified. A possible contract extension depends on various factors and is based on the recommendation of CBM's regional director and the partner organisation.

The main duties of a CBM expert are:
A CBM coworker has a contractual obligation to the partner to which he/she is assigned. This means you will be responsible to both the project partner (i.e. local churches, associations, self-help groups, government institutions) and to CBM.
CBM provides services to local partners in specific countries, consisting of financial support and the expertise of professional specialists. Continued support is also provided by international advisor teams in the fields of medical eye and ear care, orthopaedics/rehabilitation and special education.

Your contract

In addition to a salary, CBM provides seconded overseas staff with:
- a benefits package
- a cost of living allowance, depending on the country of assignment
- school fees (either in part or entirely) to accompanying children
- a liability insurance for the entire family
- a life insurance in case of accidental death
- a flight rescue service free of charge
- 33 working days holiday per year
- a return flight to the home country every two years
- a resettlement allowance to assist with integration into the home country upon completion of the assignment.

- to effectively use the respective medical, educational-rehabilitative and management skills appropriate to the given situation
- to pass on these skills through teaching and training of national staff
and to prepare a local successor - to offer the best possible service under the given conditions.
