Since 2002, Christian Blind Mission (CBM) has Roster Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC). The United Nations (UN) Council establishes consultative relations with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to achieve their involvement and to draw upon their special expertise or experience.
The Economic and Social Council of the United Nations is one of the five most important committees of UN. ECOSOC member states debate on economic and social problems; thus, ECOSOC can be compared with the UN's Security Council.
