Their sister Berthe is carrying a canister with water on her head. Elysee and Berthe had successful cataract operations in St. Joseph Hospital, Kinshasa/DR Congo.

Caroline is attending the 3rd class in the Kambui School for the Deaf. The Kambui School is consisting of a boarding, preschool, school and vocational section. Most of the 206 students (June 2003) are coming from a radius of 400 km around Kambui. The school borders on a secondary school. Some of the students join integrative classes there.

CBM President Professor Allen Foster met with World Health Organisation Director-General Dr Margaret Chan, for the WHO's global initiative to eliminate avoidable blindness "Vision 2020: The Right to Sight” on the eve of World Sight Day 2007 at the WHO's headquarters.
