Pierre-Bernard Le Bas, a member of CBM's senior leadership team, says: "I have been impressed by the dedication and competencies which CBM colleagues in the member organisations and the field bring to the task of helping persons with disabilities."

Pierre-Bernard, 52, has been vice president of fundraising for CBM since July 2006. His main task is to provide strategic advice to CBM National Associations to add impetus to their fundraising results and inspire more people to support the work CBM partners and co-workers do worldwide.

Pierre-Bernard has 25 years of fundraising and public relations experience. As head of private sector and public affairs at the The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees headquarters in Geneva, he helped to boost the private sector income of UNHCR by three-fold, and also presided over the re-launch of the Goodwill Ambassador Program.

Prior to his work for UNHCR, Pierre-Bernard spent eight years with global charity UNICEF as marketing services manager of the private sector division and acting deputy director for private sector fundraising. During this time, he coordinated all UNICEF private sector fundraising activities and participated in the restructuring of UNICEF greeting cards operations.

In 1980, Pierre-Bernard founded the international development child sponsorship NGO "Aide et Action". As CEO for 11 years, he oversaw eight overseas programmes with US$11m annual income. In addition to his work for CBM, PB serves as a Roman Catholic permanent deacon in his church community and hometown of Cessy, France.
