Dhariwal, Punjab, 70 kms Northeast of Amritsar. An erstwhile Salvation Army General Hospital under the Salvation Army Territorial Hed Quarters at New Delhi, of which only the eye department is now surviving. 50 eye beds available. Population consists of poor industrial workers and agricultural labour both of which are migratory. The land and factory owners are affluent and are a good source of local income. Most of the patients are from the outreach services who are brought back to the base for surgeries. |
