Chhattikara next to Vrindavan, Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, 60 kms from Agra (the city famous for Taj Mahal). Vrindavan is a holy place for Hindus, being the birth place of Lord Krishna. The partner is Naujhil Intergrated Rural Project for Health Development (NIRPHAD). A co-funded hospital constructed adjacent to the Delhi-Agra road. The project serves a completely rural population in an area of about 1,550 sq. kms and extends community eye care services to a major portion of the district covering over 450 villages. Most of the area is backward and under-developed and the only occupation is agriculture on marginal land holdings. |
