Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, 350 kms from Raipur airport. A 100 bed general hospital of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Madhya Pradesh, including 30 (CBM donated) eye beds, has a good reputation. The project is situated in the Gondwana region, largely inhabited by Gond tribals. It is located in a coal mining belt and most of the expansion in the town has been due to this reason. Most eye work is done at outreach screening camps and patients are brought to the base hospital for surgeries. |
