Dehradun, capital of Uttaranchal, about 270 kms from New Delhi has a small airport (Jolly Grant) about 40 kms from the city. A century old school for the blind and historically, one of the first blind schools in India. Hostel-based institution with blind children from all over the country. With the assistance of CBM it has moved to integrated education. A Low Vision tertiary centre is being established by CBM for stocking of low vision aids and accessories as well as for technical assessment and rehabilitation of low vision children. |
