| Project Information: | This extremely busy eye unit is located some 15 km from Nairobi and serves as a referral and training unit for Kenya and the region. Training programmes in collaboration with the University of Nairobi include postgraduate ophthalmologists, cataract surgeons, ophthalmic assistants, opticians, and theatre nurses. A strong outreach program provides cross border surgical safaris into Somalia. A retinal and occuloplastic specialist will be posted to this large referral unit in 2007. |
