Project Information: This medical coordination body of the protestant churches is based in Kampala the capital of Uganda. This office administers funding for a CBM supported mobile eye team headed by an expatriate ophthalmologist. There is potential for this body to coordinate other CBM related services which would be a common area in the UPMB's new strategic plan 2005 - 2007 of which two strategic points are to: oBuild capacity of UPMB members to support communities for better health and development oEnhance UPMB's advocacy and networking with other key players in the health sector

CBM President Professor Allen Foster met with World Health Organisation Director-General Dr Margaret Chan, for the WHO's global initiative to eliminate avoidable blindness "Vision 2020: The Right to Sight” on the eve of World Sight Day 2007 at the WHO's headquarters.
