Project Information: The Gindiri School, the first institution established for blind children in Nigeria, is more than 50 years old and belongs to the Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN). It is located in Gindiri, a small town in a rural area of Plateau State, central Nigeria. Besides being a boarding school for approximately seventy primary school pupils, there is a special course for adults, who became blind later in life and require rehabilitation. The school gives very good orientation mobility as well as typing classes so that the pupils can be integrated into secondary schools. There is also an active sports programme.
