Orthopaedic Workshop
Location: Uganda, Kampala
Project Information: This centre (90 beds) is the main pre- and postoperative rehabilitation unit for corrective surgery (orthopaedic and plastic) at CORU, Mengo Hospital (where 3 surgeons, CBM co-workers, are based). Services such as physiotherapy, nursing care, orthopaedic appliances are provided. Through Katalemwa other CBM supported projects and collaborating programs access surgery and orthopaedic appliances. CBM co-worker Mainetti's contract will end in July 2007

CBM President Professor Allen Foster met with World Health Organisation Director-General Dr Margaret Chan, for the WHO's global initiative to eliminate avoidable blindness "Vision 2020: The Right to Sight” on the eve of World Sight Day 2007 at the WHO's headquarters.
