Location: India North, Delhi-Old (Delhi)
Project Information: Rohini, a satellite township on the outskirts of Delhi, 40 kms from the International airport. All India Confederation of the Blind managed by their own Board consists of institution-based education programmes for the blind spread in various parts of the country. The project maintains an equipment bank which provides much needed aids equipment to the blind at subsidised prices. They also provide vocational training like typewriting and stenography. Trained candidates are immediately absorbed in open industries/banks. CBM additionally support stenography training and a CBR project in Gurgaon District adjacent to Delhi. They also sponsor higher education for blind women and with the co-funding of Marga Schulze Stiftung and DVBS Marburg run a hostel for college going blind girls.
