Project Information: The Holley Memorial Hospital Ochadamu is owned by the Qua Iboe Fellowship, a local Nigerian Church. The facility is located in Idah, Kogi State, in central Nigeria. Originally, it catered only to leprosy patients but has now developed into a general hospital with medical eye care and orthopaedic services. Since April 2006, a new DO ophthalmologist is providing full time cataract, glaucoma as well as other eye surgery at the new eye unit. The government seconded two ophthalmic nurses to the hospital, who are continuing to provide primary eye care screening to surrounding communities on a regular basis. Orthopaedic surgeons from Mkar Rehabilitation Hospital visit three times a year on outreach.
