Project Information: The National Programme for Prevention of Blindness is run by a sub-department of the Diseases Prevention and Control Department of the Federal Ministry of Health of Ethiopia. The National Programme for Prevention of Blindness is assisted by a WHO VISION 2020 coordinator. It is guided by a VISION 2020 compliant National Committee for Prevention of Blindness where all major stakeholders including CBM are represented in its executive committee. It also supports a training programme of ophthalmic nurses and supplies medicines, consumables and ophthalmic equipments/instruments for eye departments that are under the direct jurisdiction of the Federal Ministry of Health.

CBM conducts first Training of Trainers Workshop on Accessibility

CBM’s SARO(S) Regional Office has conducted CBM’s first Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop on Accessibility. The training, held from 1st to 3rd February 2009 at Mobility India in Bangalore, will ensure that more resource people are available to train others in inclusive and barrier-free environments.
