Project Name: Mengo Hospital Orthopaedic Department
Project Description: Orthopaedic Department
Location: Uganda, Kampala
Project Information: This orthopaedic and plastic-reconstructive surgical centre in Mengo Hospital is the basis for 3 surgeons, CBM coworkers. It closely collaborates with Katalemwa Cheshire Home. Surgeons undertake outreach to upcountry units where other pre- and postoperative services are provided through collaborating programs. Funding for the masters training in orthopaedic surgery at the Makerere University is channelled through CORU. This unit has also successfully trained surgeons in paediatric orthopaedics. Most activities presently taking place at CORU will shift to the CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital once that is made operational.
