Silchar in the Barak valley of Assam in north east India, about 25 kms from the airport. The catchment covers Cachar, Karimganj Hailakandi. The eye hospital is managed by the Local Lions Club as part of their Sight First Programme on land donated by the State Government. Lions Eye Hospital Silchar is the main ophthalmic service provider in the Barak valley. It has the potential to be a major referral hospital (Tertiary Centre). Assam has on of the lowest CSRs in India. |
