People

Project Information: The community based rehabilitation (CBR) programme at Alushi is owned and managed by the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ. It is situated in a small village, a few kilometres from Akwong, a town of about 50,000 people in Nassarawa State, central Nigeria. The programme is attached to a medical centre. With CBM's assistance it has developed an eye programme, outpatient department, operating theatre and wards with its own resident ophthalmologist. The CBR programme identifies patients for these services as well as assists disabled children to go to school and disabled people to establish micro enterprises. An audiology technician from Services for the Disabled in Abuja visits on a regular basis.
