| Location: | India North, Tura (meghalaya) |
| Project Information: | Tura, Meghalaya, in a poor and remote tribal area of West Garo Hills bordering Bangladesh. It is about 8 hours by road from Guwahati which has an airport. Helicopter services are available between Guwahati Tura during favourable weather conditions. The project is run by the Bethany Society which is a Roman Catholic Society independent of the Church. The project works with the disabled and provides Special Education and CBR services. We support cross-disability CBR in the Districts of Rongram, Gambigre and Dalu through prevention, early intervention, educational and rehabilitation services. An orthopaedic workshop and physical therapy unit has been added in 2004 to cater for these otherwise not available services in the Garo Hills. |
