Location: India North, Bhopal (madhya pradesh)
Project Information: Bhopal, capital of Madhya Pradesh has a local airport. This is a small general hospital in the congested part of the old city. The project is run by Akshat Health, Help Research Society, a local NGO. CBM supports comprehensive community eye care services through the eye department. The Partner is also involved in different social work such as activities for street kids, women empowerment and informal education in the slums of Bhopal. Catchment area consists of the densely populated city and a periphery of about 100 kms around.

CBM President Professor Allen Foster met with World Health Organisation Director-General Dr Margaret Chan, for the WHO's global initiative to eliminate avoidable blindness "Vision 2020: The Right to Sight” on the eve of World Sight Day 2007 at the WHO's headquarters.
