for Deaf / Hearing Disabled
Location: India North, Agartala (Tripura)
Project Information: Agartala, capital of Tripura, a small state in remote North East India. Agartala has its own local airport connected via Guwahati and Kolkata. A partnership with th Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians (MSMHC), Shillong Province for providing rehabilitation and intervention services. It consists of a Vision Centre, Prevention of Hearing Impairment, Audiology and Speech Therapy Unit, Orthopedic Workshop with Physiotherapy unit and a preparatory school for preparing hearing impaired children for integration from Class V upwards. They also have a CBR and a CHAD project under the same management. The catchment area covers the entire state of Tripura as there are no other service providers available.
