Project Description: CBR Programme / Service
for Multiple Disabled
Location: India North, Agartala (Tripura)
Project Information: Agartala, capital of Tripura, a small State in remote North-East India. Agartala has its own local airport connected via Guwahati and Kolkata. A partnership with the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians (MSMHC), Shillong Province, for providing CAHD services. The catchment area is restricted to a portion of South District as the concept of CAHD was under research by a team headed by a professor of Sociology from North Eastern Hills University, Shillong. The research will be finalised and published by the end of 2006. Thereafter, this project will be merged with the CBR project under the same management and a combined CBR-CAHD approach will be followed thereafter.
