Project Description: CBR Programme / Service
for Blind / Visually Disabled
Location: India North, Ramnagar (Uttaranchal)
Project Information: Ramnagar, District Nainital, in Uttaranchal. About 49 kms from the popular hill station Nainital and 32 kms from the Jim Corbett National Park, the famous tiger sanctuary. Connected to Delhi by train, but best visited by road, by which it is about 205 kms from Delhi. The journey takes about 5 hrs. The project is managed by Venu Charitable Society and is the first CBR project in the State of Uttaranchal. The catchment area covers the districts of Ramnagar, Nainital Haldwani with a population of about 5.5 million. The project will provide referrals for eye services to the eye hospital of the same partner in Ramnagar.
