for Blind / Visually Disabled
Location: India North, Bajna, Mathura (Uttar Pradesh)
Project Information: Bajna, district Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, about 6 hrs by road from Delhi. The partner is Naujhil Intergrated Rural Project for Health Development (NIRPHAD). The project is a satellite of an existing eye project with the same partner at Vrindavan and serves a completely different rural population in an area of about 1,550 sq. kms. It provides community eye care services to a major portion of the district covering about 250 villages. Most of the area is backward and under-developed and the only occupation is agriculture on marginal land holdings.
