| Project Information: | New school screening programme, focusing on detection of refractive errors, covering four departments of Paraguay (Caaguazu, Guaira, Paraguari, Caazapa) with a total population of almost one million. Children with other eye problems are referred for treatment and surgeries to ophthalmologists and eye foundations in Asunción, including Fundación Visión. CBM partner is the National VISION 2020 Committee of Paraguay (CONAVIP), the first committee of this kind in Latin America. Project plans to establish one of the first Latin American steady programmes, considering the high number of irregular and short-term campaigns. |
