Prevention of Hearing Impairment

CBM aims to reduce substantially the large number of people with hearing impairment by supporting available prevention methods. CBM is also conducting campaigns to raise public awareness and promote health education.

Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Deafblind Persons

For most people in developing countries a loss of hearing also means a loss of formal education. Thus the objective of CBM is to improve the opportunities for deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind people to receive any form of education.

Audiology and Speech Therapy

The deaf boy is attending the kindergarten in the Holy Land Institute for the Deaf in Salt/Jordan. It is a rehabilitation centre for hearing impaired children and young people.

Hearing impairment has profound consequences on individuals’ abilities to communicate. Audiology and Speech therapy services in CBM primarily target two groups: the young children and the elderly, hearing-impaired people.
