Mission Statement and Values

Improve The Quality Of Life Of People With Disabilities

Mission Statement

CBM is an international Christian development organisation whose primary purpose is to improve the quality of life of the world’s poorest persons with disabilities and those at risk of disability, who live in the most disadvantaged societies.

Disabilities: Inclusion and Services

CBM advocates for the inclusion of people with disability as equals in all aspects of society.

CBM believes that people with disabilities have the same rights as others to healthcare, education, and livelihoods.

CBM seeks to provide services for people with sensory, motor, and/or mental impairments.

CBM promotes the prevention of the causes of disability as a priority.

Services: Enabling Partners to Provide High-Quality Services

CBM works through partner agencies—Christian, secular, and governmental—enabling them to provide high-quality preventive, curative, educational, and rehabilitative services in order to maximise the quality of life of an increasing proportion of people with disabilities and those at risk of disability.

CBM supports the provision of services for people regardless of race, religion, nationality, and gender.

CBM emphasises community-focused approaches.

CBM’s work is of such nature that it will contribute to sustainability and self-reliance.

CBM uses its human, financial, and technical resources to optimise the impact of its work on as many people as possible.
