Torrential rains from Typhoon Ketsana, which swept through the Philippines, has left more than 246 people dead and tens of thousands of people homeless.

Situation of Persons with Disabilities in Eastern DRC

Crisis in North Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo: an update

In September 2008, an estimated 250,000 people were displaced by the conflict between rebel forces and government troops in the North East of the DRC. CBM is present and is supporting emergency relief in the region.

Aila causes floods in S Asia region

Cyclone Aila has caused widespread flooding in parts of Bangladesh and Eastern India. CBM Partners are monitoring the situation and in communication with other disability organisations to carry out need assessment and emergency support.

Following the 8.8-magnitude earthquake with epicentre close to the Chilean city of Concepción and aftershocks, CBM will support its Partner in the region. CBM has one Partner Project in need of reconstruction, located in Concepción, the country's second largest city.
