PRADET (Psychosocial Recovery and Development in East Timor) formed shortly after the violence of September 1999 was the first and only organisation which provided mental health services in the emergency phase.
The project uses community-based rehabilitation approaches to provide psychosocial services to survivors of trauma, torture, mass displacement who have or are at risk of psycho-social problems.
The project provides comprehensive and specialised mental health training programmes to East Timorese health, community and welfare professionals.
