CBM's preferred approach in meeting the needs of people with disabilities is to focus on mobilising the community. In 2013, CBM contributed to 197 community-based rehabilitation programmes, helping 202,505 people.

Juba Teaching Hospital

  • Eye care hospital
  • Training center
Juba teaching hospital provides health services to the population living in Central Equatoria as well as acting as a referral health centre for the entire country. The eye unit at the teaching hospital is one of the main departments.
It's mandate is to contribute to reduction of the prevalence of blindness from the present high levels of estimated 1.5% to less than 0.75% in ten years through:
 

  • Development of manpower through training of all categories of health workers especially middle eye care cadre professionals.
  • Sourcing for appropriate equipment from the Government and  INGO for provision of quality eye health.
  • Providing plans for the development of physical infrastructure for effective eye care delivery in the States.
  • Advocating for recognition of blindness as a public health problem that requires urgent attention.
