Low Vision Programme Chihuahua

  • Low vision services for blind / visually disabled people
Low vision program located in Chihuahua, a city in northern México with approximately 800,000 inhabitants.

The program is run by the association CEIAC (Centro de Estudios para Invidentes A.C.) and aims at establishing continuous services of detection, diagnose, orientation, educational counselling and rehabilitation so as to make best use of remaining sight of children and young adults.

In 2004 more than 100 persons were attended and there are still 250 children and juveniles on a waiting list. This is so far the only low vision programme in Mexico supported by CBM.
