Horn of Africa - Meru food distribution - Part 1
Transcript
Linda Mwania (CBM East Africa Communications Officer)
Today the CBM team has joined a food distribution exercise
with our partner SPARK in the eastern part of Kenya.
and in this particular area they have not received rain for three consecutive seasons
and because of that their subsistence farming has been wiped out.
They were expecting 300 families
and it looks like by the end of the
day that they will probably have received more.
Within this community we have also seen an unusually high
incidence of children with disabilities and people with disabilities accessing the food distribution
I'm thankful that we are able to be here
and to be part of this distribution
that the support we have been able to receive
is enabling this community to receive immediate food aid
but other communities around the country just like it, together with our implementing partners.
