On 30-31 May 2011, an international conference to discuss inclusion of people with disabilities in emergency response is running in Norway. CBM is supporting the conference, both during the pre-event organisation and at the time, where the Senior Manager of CBM's Emergency Response Unit will be a keynote speaker.

An international conference in Oslo, Norway on May 30 & 31 is exploring how states and international organisations can address the inclusion of people with disabilities in emergency responses practices.

The conference is hosted by the Norwegian disability umbrella organisation The Atlas Alliance, in cooperation with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is aimed primarily at individuals within Governments, the UN and International NGOs responsible for making disaster risk reduction and emergency response policies and implementation strategies.

CBM is supporting the organisation of the event and Valerie Scherrer, Senior Manager of CBM's Emergency Response Unit, will be a keynote speaker.
