CBM monitoring the situation

Typhoon Hagupit (locally named Ruby) made landfall on the Eastern Samar coast, near the town of Dolores on 6 December. This is just over a year after Typhoon Haiyan struck the country.

9 December - CBM has contacted all partners potentially affected by the Philippines' latest typhoon, and none have reported casualties or major damage.

CBM had a rapid needs assessment team on standby in Manila, but due to the fact that the impact of the storm was less than expected, this was not deployed.

In responding to disaster, we work - together with partners - to ensure that persons with disabilities are included at all levels of relief, recovery and rehabilitation.
