The 12th session of the UN CRPD in Geneva in October 2014
The Committee on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) met in Geneva from 15 September to 3 October 2014, where it issued key recommendations for six countries. The CRPD is one of the core human rights treaty bodies of the United Nations. CBM was represented at the session by Diane Mulligan, Deputy Director of International Advocacy and Alliances, who is the UK’s elected Expert of the Committee.

Crucial for our advocacy work, these recommendations allow us to monitor a government’s progress towards implementation of the CRPD, and also help them stay accountable. Taking these recommendations seriously will lead to true inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of society.
