Based in Melbourne, CBM Australia has been an active member of the Federation for over 30 years. Helping millions of people benefit from real, lasting change, we adopt proven community-based programs that work to prevent blindness, end poverty, and transform the lives of people with disability. We do this by providing health, medical care and rehabilitation, equality and opportunity, and through influencing and advocacy in 22 countries around the world.
Our partnerships exist at both a grassroots and strategic level, making immediate and lasting change possible by:
- Partnering with local community organisations, NGOs, and governments including DFAT (Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) and ANCP (the Australian NGO Cooperation Program).
- Working in partnership with other NGOs, community campaigns and key influencers.
- Advising governments and other organisations to promote an approach that includes people with disability in their policies and programs.
- Joining forces with key partners to increase the reach and impact of our work, including the WHO (World Health Organisation), the IAPB (International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness), and the International Disability Alliance.
